EXPERIENCED MASSAGE THERAPIST
Massage Sci provides evidence-informed massage therapy serving Holland, Michigan and clients from all over West Michigan and Ottawa County -- Zeeland, Grand Haven, Saugatuck, Hudsonville, Hamilton, West Olive, Allegan -- and beyond.
I've been a Licensed Massage Therapist for 12 years and specialize inchronic pain relief and management, as well as recovering from repetitive daily strain.
You'll experience a client-centered and anxiety-aware session alongside a deep knowledge of conditions like sciatica, plantar fasciitis, fibromyalgia, back pain, and prolonged stress.
I also keep things simple with all-inclusive pricing: I do not accept monetary tips and there are no extra or upcharges for specific tools or techniques.

FOCUSED MASSAGE THERAPY
My approach is often called medical, sports, or therapeutic massage therapy. I call it focused massage therapy -- customized quality care to address your pain and stress.
I use a strategic and methodical approach over brute force -- no one with pain should leave with more of it. Each massage therapy session and any strategies I suggest are specific and effective for your recovery and mobility goals.
I provide massage with a biopsychosocial lens. This means I look at the whole picture -- not just the muscle, but how stress, sleep, and your daily routine may influence your pain or tension. My goal isn't just relaxation - it's getting you back to your hobbies, playing with the kids, or finishing a long shift without that nagging ache.
chronic pain massage
Are you living with the unpredictable challenges of chronic pain that has no specific "cause" or singular source? When you have non-specific widespread pain, like with fibromyalgia, scheduling a massage may cause a fair amount of hesitation. Many of my clients in Holland come to me after having bad experiences with "deep tissue" that left them in a painful flare-up or feeling worse than when they arrived. I offer a different approach: one that's gentle but still therapeutic. Chronic pain conditions require and deserve more than just muscle work; they require a massage therapist who understands central sensitization and respects your nervous system. I work with your body, not against it.
foot pain massage
Is foot pain making every step a struggle? Feeling a stabbing pain in the bottom of your arch that's preventing you from training for the next West Michigan marathon? If you dread those first few steps out of bed in the morning or feel a sharp pain in your heel after standing, you likely know the frustration of plantar fasciitis. A massage therapy session at Massage Sci goes beyond just your foot to address the upstream influences and root causes of the discomfort and pain.
shoulder / back pain massage
Is back pain keeping you from enjoying daily life? Whether it’s a dull throbbing ache from desk work all day or an intense pain that limits your mobility, back pain is more than a physical sensation -- it’s a life drain. I specialize in targeted massage therapy designed to get you back to moving with greater ease and comfort and enjoying all that an active West Michigan lifestyle has to offer. Back and shoulder pain doesn't have to simply become your "new normal." While generic massages are great for relaxation, chronic back pain requires a more evidence-informed, anatomical approach. I don’t just "rub the area that hurts right now" -- together, we will look for the regional sources of tension and solutions for at-home care.
sciatic / hip pain massage
Is radiating pain in your hip making it impossible to get comfortable while you sit, stand, or sleep? Sciatica isn't just a normal ache -- it’s a disruptive, sharp, or tingling sensation that travels from your lower back through your hip and down your leg. It can make the simplest tasks, like driving down US-31 or sitting at your desk, feel unbearable. And it can really put a literal or metaphorical pinch in your day. I use an approach designed to calm the region and release the tension that keeps you in pain.
stress relief massage
When life moves too fast for too long, stress stops being just a fleeting feeling and starts showing up in your body: as tension headaches; shallow or restricted breathing; shoulders crunched up at your ears; lack of deep or consistent sleep; a constant sense of being on edge, hypervigilant head on a swivel. I don’t just offer a quiet room -- I provide massage therapy with a biopsychosocial lens. This means recognizing how things like your environment, movement patterns, and daily routine all intersect. My approach is methodical and respectful of your comfort; I don't just "steamroll" your body for an hour. I provide an evidence-informed approach to stress reduction that focuses on calming the nervous system and helping your body find its way back to a state of regulated restfulness.
