AN EXPERIENCED THERAPIST
Hello, I'm Raechel. I'm west Michigan born and raised, and have called Holland my home since 2008.
For many years I worked at nonprofit organizations, donning a variety of hats - marketing, operations, events management, fund development, and accounting.
I experienced a car accident injury that was greatly helped by massage -- which sparked a career change.
I've been a licensed massage therapist for over ten years, practice evidence-informed therapy, and I have specialized in persistent and chronic pain relief and management. I've recently began focusing on perimenopause and menopause education in order to support clients' varied symptoms during that transition; I'm also a member of The Menopause Society, which promotes and provides modern research-based information and resources.
My professional passions include researching and compiling pain science materials: monthly wellness emails, The Bodies We Live In blog, and my book Understanding Persistent Pain.
Personal interests include avid sci-fi or Dungeons & Dragons nerdery; gardening; sailing; thoughtful conversations; and long afternoons lost in a book. Or two.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
There's lot of approaches, styles, and training levels when it comes to massage therapy. One massage can be very different than the next.
As a client of mine, you can expect my practice to be evidence-informed, my business to be professional, and my approach to be results-based.
evidence-informed
An evidence-informed practice combines your unique story with scientific research to create massages and recommendations tailored to you.
You can expect your session and any strategies I suggest to be specific and effective for your goals.
professional
I've provided massage therapy and worked with other health and wellness providers since 2014. Massage is my full-time career - not a gig or hobby.
I provide simple no-tip pricing and prioritize safe and quality sessions that focus on your pain or stress.
results-based
Truly listening to the results you're looking for is a top priority and part of the biopsychosocial model I practice.
You'll experience an inclusive and anxiety-aware approach woven into your session, with an openness to feedback and constant improvement.
