YOUR MASSAGE THERAPIST
Hey! I'm Raechel.
I'm a licensed massage therapist and owner of Massage Sci; an NCBTMB Approved Continuing Education Provider and curator of Torchlight Massage, home of my ebooks; author of The Bodies We Live In blog; and very fond of semicolons.
Before my massage therapy career, I worked in the nonprofit sector, wearing many hats - marketing, operations, events management, fund development, and grant writing.
Several years later, I graduated from a medically focused massage school, and in 2015 opened Massage Sci with a focus on pain.
In my free time, I enjoy:
- writing about self-care
- trying to grow things in my garden
- reading and researching current pain science
- being a nerd about many things with "star" in the title
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
In the massage therapy field, there are many variances in approach, style, and education. A massage from one practitioner, even in the same town, can be very different from the next. As a client of mine, you can expect my practice to be evidence-informed, my business to be professional, and my approach to be thoughtful.
An evidence-informed massage therapy practice means I combine your unique story along with the most current scientific understanding, to create a custom session. No cookie-cutter.
You can expect your massage and any strategies I suggest to be specific to your health and wellness goals.
Massage Sci is my full-time profession. Not a part-time gig or a hobby. I've provided massage therapy and kept current with the best research day-in and day-out since 2014.
You can expect my home office to be highly clean, welcoming, and effective in providing quality massage therapy.
Earning your trust and ensuring your comfort are valuable aspects that increase the effectiveness of massage.
You can expect I have placed time, intention, and thought into designing each interaction and policy while also remaining open to feedback and constant improvement.
"Therapist was very attentive and interested in creating a dialogue about how I was feeling, how I exercise, and things I can do better outside of her office."
